Songs of Tobi

Hey, people. What happened to our FOTI? The last time it's been updated was in May. NOthing else to add on? Well, as you can tell by the title, this is about Songs of Tobi. I've been reading the documents, and I began to wonder what songs of Tobi do we have? Has it ever been written down? Does anyone know a song other than Wichie wei Banana? A cultural song? Let me know, and please try to post it. I'd really like to learn some songs that I can possibly carry a tune. hehehe...

Hello there. Songs of Tobi is a great idea!
The Webmaster had surgery this summer and that is why FOTI hasn't been updated. But now all is well and we will start adding things quickly!
If any of you know about songs, please
send them along to me.
Best to all. FOTI Webmaster

Hey! I hope you've fully recovered from that surgery and that you're feeling better! How come Soty never told us??? Oh, by the way, when is Soty's graduation? Gotta start saving money for her one wild night out (hehhe..nothing extreme..just hang out and talk about college..hehe). Anyway, has anyone been visiting this site? I'm still waiting for an entry on the song.

Hi.. I've got some songs from Echang. I was wondering if you might be interested in them. They're church songs.

I like this one--Songs of Tobi is in the works and has been in the works by my father, Isauro. It has taken more time and resources than originally thought 8 years ago when we sat down and began the project. This is because of distance between where we live and the fact that he is probably the ONLY one alive now. It is harder when you are alone and try to chant and define/describe each chant---you tend to get a little confused. But we both strongly agree that it is a worthy project that no matter what, it will continue. To post them on FOTI, I would have to take his permission and of course, filter what can be posted and what can not. Until then, you can enjoy the Hapesang songs or the more popular Palauan chacha.

Hello there justin;
I think the songs of tobi or the chant is pretty much fading away. its good thing you can chant of sing because as for me, not a single lyrics I know. but to my amaze the tobian rythms, are somewhat interact with American rap.. Justin do you know of any tobian that migrated to the states and live on the street that somehow forgot to speak tobian but kept the rythm, because I think if we only pick up the tobian lyrics then we rap on it, oh boy its a hit. what do you think

Charl, its good to hear your side of things. Im glad to share some of my side of things too.
I think it must be the Great King Kamehameha of Hawaii!!! Aloha to him and to everyone else out there.

Hi all- my goodness, it sure has been a while since I visited and I see that the last entry was two years ago. Sad...we all seem to be drifting away from one another...Anyway,I notice that the title of this forum is "Songs of Tobi". Hmmm...let me see, I know a few songs which some of us refer to as "Mouhari" but pleae correct me if I wrote this wrong...ready?... here it goes.

Fisi e ramatiho, nga maham ie maiwots,
Nga sisa feteiamo, me'tei hitsa mesisohu, ba ramare iarewarae, ira
mesitoh irang niniats hitse mar!

Here's a couple to think of and see if you all still remember these songs:

1. Baby Blue
2. E longley nga E Kurusii

Man,they sure do bring back memories...
